All students enter the department with the expectation of earning the Ph.D., as the department does not admit students seeking a terminal Master's degree.
Minimum Requirements and Prerequisites
In addition to the University Requirements for admission, the department also has the following prerequisite for graduate admission:
- An undergraduate or master's degree in the field of study OR at least 15 credit hours in psychology, including a first course in statistics and a course in experimental psychology or psychological research methods
To apply for admission to the graduate program, please submit all application materials no later than December 1st. The Department does not admit new students for the spring or summer terms. Because admission to our doctoral program is extremely competitive, it is important that all materials and supporting documents are received no later than December 1st to guarantee consideration for admission.
