The remaining elective courses may include any undergraduate courses
offered by the Department of Psychology including PSYC 480 Independent
Study, PSYC 481 Research Practicum, and PSYC 483 Undergraduate
Internship in Psychology. A maximum of 3 hours of PSYC 480, or 3 hours
of PSYC 481, or 3 hours of PSYC 483, or any combination of these three
courses totaling 3 hours may count toward the minor.
Students must complete the minor with a 2.0 or higher psychology
grade-point average, obtain a Minor Certification Sheet from the
department advising specialist, and meet with a department faculty
member for review and signature on the Minor Certification Sheet.
Students minoring in psychology may benefit from focusing elective
courses to emphasize a specific aspect of psychology to fit their
overall career goals. Examples of course groupings (emphases) that might
be considered but are not required can be found here.
